Your Car Needs a Spring Cleaning, Too

We all know the drill: temperatures begin to rise, flowers bloom and everyone spring cleans their homes. But, wait. Why stop there? The weather is finally breaking so it’s the perfect time to head outside and take care of your Nissan that just endured winter. Do these five tasks to keep your car running smoothly.

1.     Check alignment and suspension: Winter is rough on the roads and, in turn, on your vehicle, especially when potholes are plentiful. These conditions can throw your car out of alignment. Schedule an appointment today to have our mechanics make sure everything is functioning properly.
2.     Look under the hood: Some minor maintenance can be done at home, such as checking fluids and filling the washer fluid. Be sure the engine is cool when you check the oil and coolant levels. Filling the washer fluid is simple: just open the cap with the windshield wiper image and fill it to the top.
3.     Change your windshield wipers: After going through winter, windshield wipers can be worn from all the snow and ice. Signals to look for are smearing and missing spots. Installing new ones will help increase visibility in spring rains. If you need assistance switching them out for new ones, come in and we’re happy to help.
4.     Deep clean the inside: Sometimes a spotless interior takes some work. This is a perfect time to throw out unnecessary items, vacuum (yes, even under the seats), and cleaning other materials with surface-specific cleaners. If animal hair is a problem invading your vehicle, BuzzFeed suggests removing it from upholstery with a spray bottle of water and squeegee.
5.     Give it a bath: Of course, we all want the exterior of our vehicle to look clean even if the inside might not be that spotless. Winter can add extra grime to the exterior of your ride thanks to salt left on the road. To avoid corrosion, it’s important to wash your car promptly after snowstorms.

Once you complete these five spring cleaning tasks, you’ll feel accomplished and ready to hit the road. If you’re looking for additional maintenance to be done, check out our deals here and schedule an appointment.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima has finally arrived. In continuation from our debut post about the brand new and redesigned Maxima, the full-sized sedan has not only become a favorite, but has also earned the highest 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Standard safety features include six airbags, antilock brakes, brake assist, vehicle dynamic control and traction control. Earning the 2016 Maxima five stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests.

Driver Attention Alert systems are also available in the new Maxima Platinum model, giving the vehicle the ability to sense drowsiness and prompt the drivers to prevent accidents. While Forward-collision alert, blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems are standard on Maxima SL, SR and Platinum models.

From a redesigned exterior to the highest rated safety interior, there is no argument that the new 2016 Maxima is changing the way we think of traditional sedans.
