Denver Fisher House

Here in Denver we are blessed to have an organization that gives back to our military and their families. Larry H Miller Nissan Highlands Ranch is a proud supporter of the Denver Fisher House. The Denver Fisher House “provides a "home away from home" for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.” Each house is designed to provide 8 to 21 suites. All are professionally furnished and decorated in the tone and style of the local region.

The houses can accommodate 16 to 42 family members and feature a common kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious dining room and an inviting living room with library and toys for children.

Families do not pay to stay at a Fisher House.

You read that correctly. The Fisher House provides for our military families at no charge to the family. With the building of the new Denver VA Medical Center, the Department of Veterans Affairs has recognized the need for an additional Fisher House. The "Second House" will be built on the campus of the new VA hospital when it is completed in 2015. The Denver Fisher House Foundation is committed to raising $3,000,000 as their portion of the construction cost. We have a big job ahead to help make that happen.

Please be part of this great organization by donating this great cause.

Lease vs Buy

The Difference Between Buying and Leasing

You hear a lot about the best route to take when it comes to bringing home a new vehicle. Lease or buy? There are people on both sides so we want to share with you the breakdown of each.

"When you buy a new Nissan, you pay for the entire cost of the new vehicle, regardless of how much you drive it or how long you keep it. Your monthly payment will be higher than leasing, and you typically make a down payment, pay sales tax, and your determined interest rate which is based on your credit score. You make your first payment a month after you sign your contract. If you decide later to sell or trade in the vehicle, the depreciated, or trade-in, value may be considerably less than the original cost.

When you lease a new Nissan, you pay a portion of the vehicle's cost, which is the part that you "use up" during the time you are driving it. Leasing is a form of financing and is not the same as renting.  You may have a choice of not making a down payment, you pay sales tax only on your monthly payments (in most states), and you pay a financial rate, called money factor, that is similar to the interest on a loan.  You may also be required to pay fees and possibly a security deposit that you don't have to pay when you buy a new car.  You make your first payment at the time you sign your contract--for the month ahead.  At lease-end, you may either return the vehicle, or purchase it for it's depreciated resale value.  You may be charged a lease-end disposition fee, and for any excessive mileage wear-and-tear."

So which one do I choose?

What's Important to You? What Are Your Priorities?  We all have different needs and styles when it comes to our vehicle and financial choice. Whether you lease or buy, it should be based on your priorities and long term needs.

Go Rogue

When it comes to a crossover vehicle, your search can stop with the Rogue. Whether you ride sporty or prefer classy, we think the Rogue will fit your needs.

“Comfortable and safe in any road condition! This model accommodates 5 passengers comfortably, and provides features such as: a trip computer, tilt steering wheel, and power windows. Under the hood you'll find a 4 cylinder engine with more than 170 horsepower, and all wheel drive keeps this model firmly attached to the road surface. ”

Need more? Not only is the stow-n-go a nice feature, but the In-mirror Rear View Monitor, Intelligent Key System, and Bose Audio will all rock your world. Did you know about the Round view monitor? It uses four separate cameras to insure your vehicle’s position while parking or backing up.

Of course the Rogue covers safety too:
  • Electronic stability,
  • Occupant sensing airbag
